A.J. Hammons, the No. 1-ranked recruiting class in the country by Rivals, will be a Blue Devil in 2017.
The 6-foot-5, 230-pounder is considered the nation’s No. 3 player and the No 1 cornerback in the class of 2017, according to Rivals.
Hammon is a big, strong corner and a natural fit in a 4-3 front.
The 6-0, 195-pound Hammons played his college ball at Florida Atlantic.
Hammons’ ranking in the 2016 class is No. 6 overall.
The Clemson-Buckeye rivalry has been strong in recent years, with the Tigers winning five of their last six games.
Clemson is coming off a 13-0 regular season.
Buckeyes are No. 5 in the recruiting rankings for 2017.
They have five prospects in the 247Sports composite class, including the No, 1, 6-4, 217-pound defensive end.
