The top 100 players on the NBA’s best teams are expected to earn at least $250 million, with the likes of LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, Stephen Curry and Chris Paul among the highest-paid.
But the best players in college basketball could see their earnings shrink as players struggle to break through and teams struggle to find their best talent.
Top-ranked Ohio State, which is headed to a national championship, is expected to make more than $160 million over the next five years.
No other program is expected make as much money.
That could leave some teams with too much money to pay players and teams with fewer players are likely to try to find new ways to get players.
The rankings will be released Friday, Oct. 4.
Here’s how they are expected:The No. 1 team will earn at most $250.8 million, according to the report.
No. 2 will earn $200.5 million, No. 3 $175.4 million and No. 4 $175 million.
No. 1 in 2019, 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22, which includes the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons, will earn around $170 million.
No, 2 and 3 in 2021-23, which include the 2017.19 and 2018.20 seasons, each will earn more than the top 10 in 2019-21.
No team in 2019 and 2020 will earn less than $180 million.
